Lonnie Pritchett Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Lonnie Pritchett, Superintendent at Bacon Probation Detention Center/Transitional Center (PDC/TC), to Regional Operations Coordinator at Coffee Correctional Facility (CF), effective July 16, 2025. As Regional Operations Coordinator, Pritchett will be responsible for monitoring the facility's operations to ensure that all contract conditions are met and the facility operates with a continuous focus on sanitation, safety, and security.

"During Lonnie's twenty-year tenure, he has gained an enormous amount of correctional knowledge," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "That knowledge and dedication will prove beneficial in his new leadership role at Coffee CF.”

Pritchett began his career with the GDC in 2005 as a Correctional Officer at Bacon PDC, and in 2009, he was promoted to Sergeant. In 2020, he was promoted to Lieutenant at the Appling Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF), and in 2021, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent. In 2023, he was promoted to Superintendent at Bacon PDC/TC, where he currently serves.

Pritchett's departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Professional Management Program through Columbus State University, Basic Management Training, Sergeants Academy, Supervision I, II, and III, Lieutenant's Academy, and Assistant Superintendent Academy.
