New Deputy Warden of Security at Valdosta State Prison
Delisha Bryant Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Delisha Bryant, Unit Manager at Valdosta State Prison (SP), to Deputy Warden of Security at Valdosta SP, effective March 16, 2025. As Deputy Warden of Security, Bryant is responsible for overseeing staff members and 1,185 male offenders.
“Delisha has been a dedicated and dependable leader while working her way up the ranks,” said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. “We are confident that she will continue to excel as she takes the next steps in her career.”
Bryant began her career with the GDC at Autry SP in 2007 as a Correctional Officer. In 2007, she transferred to Valdosta SP, where she rose through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Unit Manager, where she served until her most recent promotion.
Bryant received an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Georgia Military College and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Her departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training and Sergeant’s Academy.
