Alicia Ward Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Alicia Ward, Unit Manager at Wilcox State Prison (SP), to Deputy Warden of Administration at Dodge SP, effective December 1, 2024. As Deputy Warden, Ward is responsible for the management of the facility's business office, property/supply operations, and food service departments. 

"Ward has gained a wealth of correctional knowledge while working her way up through the ranks," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We look forward to seeing her continue to excel as she takes on her new role managing the business operations at Dodge SP."

Ward began her career with the department in 2014 as a Correctional Officer at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison, and in 2016, she transferred to Wilcox SP as a Field Training Officer. During her tenure at Wilcox SP, she was promoted through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Unit Manager.

Ward holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from South Georgia State University. Her departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Field Training Officer, Basic Management, and Supervision I, II, and III.
