Tina Kelley Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Tina Kelley, Chief Counselor at Emanuel Women’s Facility to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Rogers State Prison (SP) effective September 16, 2024. As Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment, Kelley will be responsible for supervising educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services, and the mental health services of male offenders at the facility.

“Kelley has been a devoted team member for over twenty years, and she consistently encourages others to be the best they can be,” said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. “We are confident that she will continue to excel as she takes the next steps in her career.”

Kelley began her career with the GDC at Smith SP in 2003 as a Correctional Officer. In 2006, she transferred to Georgia SP where she served in multiple capacities and in 2018, she was promoted to Behavioral Health Counselor II. In 2021, she was promoted to Behavioral Health Counselor III and was reassigned to Montgomery SP in 2022. In 2023, she was promoted to Chief Counselor at Emanuel Women’s Facility, where she currently serves.

Kelley earned her master’s degree in criminal justice with a focus on behavioral sciences from Walden University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology from Columbus State University. Her departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Initial Counseling Training, Professional Management Program through Columbus State University, Effective Communication Training, and Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment Academy.
