Brandon Williams Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Brandon Williams to Assistant Superintendent at Appling Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF) effective April 1, 2023. As Assistant Superintendent, Williams will be responsible for assisting the Superintendent with the daily operations of the facility, overseeing staff, and supervising approximately 200 male detainees.

"Williams has demonstrated remarkable leadership skills during his tenure with the agency," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident he will be an asset and mentor to the staff and detainees at Appling ITF."

Williams began his career with the GDC in 2016 as a Correctional Officer at Coastal Transitional Center (TC), and in 2018 he was promoted to Employment Service Specialist 3. In 2020, he transferred to Coastal SP as a Correctional Officer and was reassigned to Coastal TC shortly thereafter as an Employment Service Specialist 3. In 2020, he was reassigned as Employment Service Specialist 3 at Smith State Prison, where he currently serves. 

His departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer, Effective Communications Training, Employment Specialist Training, Counselor's Supervisors Training, Management I, II, and III, and Supervision I, II, and III.
