New Deputy Warden of Security at Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison

Mark Agbaosi Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Mark Agbaosi to Deputy Warden of Security at Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison (GDCP) effective December 1, 2022. As Deputy Warden of Security, Agbaosi will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and 2300 close and medium security male offenders at the facility.
“Agbaosi has been a dedicated leader in each position he has held while working his way up through the ranks,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “We are confident he will continue to excel in his new position as Deputy Warden of Security at GDCP.”
Agbaosi began his career with the GDC in 2010 as a Correctional Officer at GDCP. He was promoted through the ranks of Sergeant, Tact Squad member, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major/Chief of Security. In 2021, he was promoted to Unit Manager, where he currently serves.
Agbaosi is currently enrolled at Clayton State University where he is working toward his degree in Criminal Justice. His departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Special Operations (CERT/TACT) Basic Training, Sergeants Academy, Chief of Security Academy, Basic Management, and Supervision I and II. He also served in the United States Navy, and United States Air Force Reserve.
