Clinton Perry Jr. Reassigned

FORSYTH, Ga. -- Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the reassignment of Clinton Perry, Jr., Warden at Central State Prison (SP) to Warden at Macon State Prison (SP), effective August 1, 2018. Perry will be responsible for overseeing approximately 402 staff members and 1,679 close security male offenders.

“Perry has spent the last two decades working his way up the ranks and has gained valuable knowledge and experience,” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier. “We are proud to have him at the helm at Macon State Prison.”

Perry began his career with the State of Georgia in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at Central SP. In 1994, he transferred to Macon SP. During his tenure there, he rose through the ranks as Counselor Associate, Counselor, and Senior Counselor. In 2000, he was promoted to Chief Counselor at Dooly State Prison and in 2003, he was promoted to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment. In 2011, he was promoted to Superintendent of McEver Probation Detention Center and was later promoted to Warden at Central SP, where he has served since 2016.

Perry earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Secondary Education and Psychology from Tuskegee University. He has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), Professional Management Program (PMP), Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI), Hostage Negotiation Training, and Warden’s Pre-Command.
