FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is investigating the death of an inmate at the Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison in Jackson, Ga.

On November 9 at 6:46 p.m., Correctional Officers found inmate Jamie Green (GDC #628897) unresponsive in his cell. Prison medical staff attempted to revive him and he was pronounced deceased at 8:38 p.m. by the Butts County Coroner. GDC is conducting an investigation into the death, as standard procedure.

Green was sentenced to death in 2015, in Bartow County, for Aggravated Child Molestation and Child Molestation. Further information and photographs can be found on the GDC website at https://gdc.georgia.gov.
