Execution is scheduled
FORSYTH, Ga. – The execution of condemned murderer Bryan Keith Terrell scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson was carried out on December 9, 2015 at 12:52 a.m. in accordance with state law. Terrell accepted a final prayer and refused to record a final statement.
Terrell was sentenced to death in 2001 for the robbery and murder of John Henry Watson in Newton County.
There have been 59 men and one woman executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1973. Johnson was the 37th inmate put to death by lethal injection. There are presently 76 men on death row in Georgia.
