John Wayne Conner to be executed on July 14

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Telfair County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer John Wayne Conner. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between July 14 and July 21, 2016. Commissioner Homer Bryson has set the date for Thursday, July 14, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.

John Wayne Conner was convicted in 1982 for the murder of James T. White. If executed, Conner will be the 43rd inmate put to death by lethal injection.
