FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) honored Cliff Hogan of Corrections Human Resources Management as the 2015 Headquarters Employee of the Year at the 12th Annual GDC Awards ceremony on June 9 at GDC Headquarters in Forsyth, Ga.
“Cliff epitomizes the meaning of ‘team player,’ and is a stellar example of attributes the Department and state desires most in an employee,” said Commissioner Bryson. “He is well deserving of this honor and we are proud to recognize his contributions to the agency and state of Georgia.”
The Headquarters Employee of the Year award recipient promotes positive relations with co-workers, offenders, the judiciary, volunteers, partners and the community by continuously displaying consistency, dependability, and respect.
Hogan was selected for this award for his dedication and expertise in working with the Commissioner’s Office, Office of the Governor and the Georgia Criminal Justice Reform Council in identifying and providing critical elements of inmate data in order to produce reports for the Governor, legislators, judges, other state agencies, and internal customers.
Several key officials were on hand for the ceremony, which was attended by more than 200 guests. Making the award presentation with Chief of Staff Greg Dozier were Assistant Commissioner of Administration & Finance Scott Poitevint, Assistant Commissioner of Facilities Timothy C. Ward, Assistant Commissioner of Inmate Services Dr. L.C. ‘Buster’ Evans and keynote speaker Randall Godfrey.
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
