Statewide Search Underway

FORSYTH, GA. A statewide search is underway for a resident of Charles T. Hudson Transitional Center, who failed to return to the Center from his job assignment.  James Michael Beggett (GDC # 388264) was last seen leaving the Center for his job at Stanford Automotive in LaGrange, GA on Wednesday, January 27.  Beggett is a 65-year-old white male, 5’ 11”, 195 pounds.  He was convicted in Chatham County Superior Court of the 1981 murder of Amos Hart, Jr., and sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole.   

Beggett had most recently been assigned to the Transitional Center, while awaiting release on Parole, and had been employed by Stanford Automotive since November 2015.

The U.S. Marshals Service Task Force, along with local law enforcement are currently searching for Beggett.  If spotted, do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately.
