Detainees complete program at Appling Integrated Treatment Facility

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections announces the first Integrated Treatment graduates of 2016. Three detainees at the Appling Integrated Treatment Facility in Baxley, Ga. received program completion certificates this week during a graduation ceremony.

“Our goal is to ensure these graduates are not only successful in the program, but also in the communities to which they will return,” said Commissioner Homer Bryson.  “What makes graduation day so exciting is that each detainee is allowed to leave the facility with their family members and make a fresh start,” added Bryson.

This three-phase, nine-month program is a cognitive behavioral therapy course, implemented in a therapeutic community, in conjunction with our partners at Spectrum.   Each phase is comprised of a separate curriculum, to include classes such as Therapeutic Interventions, Substance Abuse Education, Psycho Education, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, and Relapse Prevention.  Detainees are required to complete a progression worksheet for each phase.
