Execution Date Set for Cobb County Murderer

Brandon Astor Jones to be executed on February 2
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Cobb County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Brandon Astor Jones. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between February 2-9, 2016. Commissioner Homer Bryson has set the date for Tuesday, February 2, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.
Brandon Astor Jones was convicted in 1979 for the murder of Roger Tackett. If executed, Jones will be the 38th inmate put to death by lethal injection.
