Inmate's Last Meal

FORSYTH, Ga. — Condemned murderer Warren Lee Hill is scheduled for execution by lethal injection at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson. Hill was sentenced to death for the 1991 murder of Joseph Handspike. 

Media witnesses for the execution are: Rhonda Cook, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Robert Preston Jr., DouglasNow, and Lauralyn Mustaki, The Georgia Association of Broadcasters.

Hill declined to request a special last meal. He will be offered the institutional meal tray, consisting of  
Shepherd pie, mashed potatoes, red beans, cabbage relish salad, corn bread, sugar cookies and fruit punch.

There have been 56 men executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1973. If executed, Hill will be the 34th inmate put to death by lethal injection. There are presently 83 men and one woman on death row in Georgia.

The Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison is located 45 minutes south of Atlanta off Interstate 75. From Atlanta, take exit 201 (Ga. Hwy. 36), turn left over the bridge and go approximately 1/4 mile. The entrance to the prison is on the left. Media covering the execution will be allowed on GDCP property beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday.
