New Chief Probation Officer Named For Rockdale Judicial Circuit

Jasmin Hill Promoted
Forsyth - Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the promotion of Jasmin Hill to Chief Probation Officer for the Rockdale Judicial Circuit effective July 1, 2013. Hill will be responsible for the oversight of 13 staff members and the supervision of felony probationers in the Rockdale Judicial Circuit.
"Jasmin has been dedicated to Probation Operations for 14 years," said Commissioner Brian Owens. "Her knowledge and experience will be valuable to the staff and probationers in her new circuit."
Hill began her career with the Department in 1999 as a Probation Officer in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit. In 2005, she transferred to the Morrow Probation Office in the Clayton Judicial Circuit and moved to the Atlanta Judicial Circuit in 2009. During her time in Atlanta, she supervised various caseloads to include Case Management, Split Sentences and Intensive Probation Supervision. Additionally, she participated in various Atlanta Joint Task Force operations. In 2011, she was promoted to Probation Officer III and returned to the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit. She received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University and her Master's degree in Management specializing in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. She has completed Basic Management Training, Pre-Command and is a certified POST Instructor.
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 60,000 state prisoners and more than 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
