Contraband arrest at Wlicox State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,622 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On December 23 at Wilcox State Prison, an unknown subject was arrested by Abbeville Police Department after throwing contraband over the facility fence and refusing to provide his personal information. The contraband consisted of marijuana, tobacco, drinking alcohol,  cellphones, chargers, earbuds, and rolling papers.
