Contraband Arrest at Wilcox State Prison and Dooly State Prison
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,002 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On December 3 at Wilcox State Prison, the facility’s surveillance cameras alerted them to an unknown individual behind the facility at the dumpster area. A search of the area was conducted and two metal like tubes containing contraband were found attached underneath the dumpster. Abbeville Police Department were notified and an unidentified man was apprehended and taken into custody.
On December 3 at Dooly State Prison, visitor Angela Sullivan entered the front entry building with a small bag of marijuana in her pocket. Visitor Angela Sullivan was arrested by Dooly County Sherriff Office.
