Contraband Arrests at Rogers State Prison
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 844 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On August 9, Tattnall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on the property of Rogers State Prison of a vehicle for failing to maintain lane on Cedar Hall Road. The officer approached the driver and detected an odor of marijuana. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and the officer discovered six black socks which contained 142 small plastic bags of loose tobacco weighing approximately 6lbs. and 10 oz., 10 small plastic bags of marijuana, 10 flip phones and one small blue Ziploc bag containing suspected methamphetamine. The driver, identified as Craig Singleton, and three passengers identified as Dominique Hawkins, Khalil Wagner and Dariunte Massey, were all arrested by Tattnall County Sheriff's Department.
