Contraband Arrest at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,415 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On June 17 at Johnson State Prison, 4 civilians in a car were found on the facilities property. In the vehicle were 2 unidentified white females and 2 unidentified white males with multiple bottles of wrapped contraband. All 4 civilians were arrested and taken to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. 

On June 17 at Johnson State Prison, Johnson County Sheriff's Office retrieved packages of contraband in the vehicle of Officer Sierra Poole. The contraband contained the marijuana and tobacco. Officer Poole was placed under arrest by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 16 at Hancock State Prison, Civilian Jeremy Curtis was found near the facilities wood line. Curtis was found with bottles that contained of cellphones and chargers. Civilian Jeremy Curtis was arrested by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
