Contraband Arrests at Calhoun State Prison and Georgia State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,104 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On September 10 at Calhoun State Prison, civilian Aaron Gregory entered the front bunker asking for directions. Civilian Gregory consented to a search of his vehicle, where the following contraband items were found: 1 plastic bag containing marijuana, 3 bundles of tobacco, 3 cell phones, 1 roll of black tape, 1 data drive and 1 pack of sandwich bags. Civilian Gregory was arrested by Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and transported to Calhoun County Jail. 

On September 9 at Georgia State Prison, GDC Office of Professional Standards Canine was alerted on a vehicle entering the parking lot. Security staff conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered 6.7 grams of marijuana. Visitor Dominique Madison was arrested by Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office. 

On September 8 at Georgia State Prison, Visitor JB Jenkins attempted to enter the facility when security staff discovered what appeared to be contraband on his person. A search revealed 6 small packages, which contained 210 grams of methamphetamine. Visitor Jenkins was arrested by Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office.
