Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,604 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On November 20 at Dooly State Prison, Civilian Caitlyn Wilson entered the front entrance when security staff smelled marijuana on her person. She consented to a search where 3 bundles of contraband were located. Civilian Wilson was arrested by Dooly County Sheriff's Office. 

On November 20 at Wilcox State Prison, multiple suspicious individuals were spotted on facility grounds. 1 female and 2 males were found in possession of the following items:  drones, tobacco, marijuana, cellphones, chargers, laptop, rolling paper, black electrical tape, Superglue, screwdriver with bits, epoxy glue, saw-blades, lighters, cable clamps, cigarillos, and a key fob. The 3 individuals were arrested by Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 15 at Rogers State Prison, security staff observed Kory Crosswhite on facility grounds. During a search the following contraband was located: tobacco, cigarettes, cellphones,  cellphone chargers, lighters, and rolling papers. Kory Crosswhite was arrested by Tattnall County Sheriff's Office. 

On November 18 at Ware State Prison, Maintenance Worker, Joshua Butler, was observed acting suspiciously while attempting to enter the facility.  Upon further investigation, tobacco was found concealed on his person. The maintenance cart was searched and additional tobacco was located. Ware County Sheriff's Office arrested Joshua Butler.
