Brian Shaver Promoted 

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Brian Shaver to Deputy Warden of Administration at Autry State Prison (SP) effective November 16, 2016. As Deputy Warden, Shaver is responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations, Maintenance and Food Service departments at the facility housing over 1,680 medium security male inmates located in Pelham, Ga.

“I am confident in Brian’s ability to take on this new role,” said Commissioner Homer Bryson. “Both his experience and his Departmental education will serve the facility well.”

Shaver started his career with the Department in 1996 as a General Trades Craftsman at Wilcox SP.  In 1997, he was promoted to a Trades Supervisor at Wilcox SP, and in 2002, he transferred to Patten Probation Detention Center as a General Trades Craftsman.  Shaver was promoted in 2004, to Correctional Security System Specialist with Engineering and Construction Services.  In 2015, he transferred to Calhoun SP as the Facility Maintenance Engineer, where he currently serves.

Shaver has completed the following departmental training: Basic Purchasing, E-Procurement, Purchasing Card, and the Professional Management Program (PMP).
