Keith Eutsey Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Keith Eutsey to Superintendent at Clayton Transitional Center, effective February 16, 2018. Formerly serving as Deputy Warden of Security at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP), Eutsey will now be responsible for overseeing 55 staff members and 351 minimum security male offenders at the Clayton Transitional Center.
“Eutsey brings 28 years of experience which will serve him well as he assumes his new position as Superintendent.” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier. “We are excited with his continued growth in the department and are looking forward to watching him excel in his new role.”
Eutsey began his career with the GDC in 1989 as a Correctional Officer at Metro State Prison. In 1990, he transferred to Mobile Construction/Engineering. Eutsey then transferred to Rockdale Probation Detention Center in 1995, and rose through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Chief of Security. Eutsey was promoted to Assistant Superintendent at Alcovy Diversion Center in 2006. In 2008, he transferred to GDCP and served as a Unit Manager. Eutsey was then promoted to Deputy Warden of Security at GDCP Prison in 2010.
Eutsey attended Alabama State University and Auburn University of Montgomery. He has completed Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), the Professional Management Program (PMP), Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI), Pre-Command, and Deputy Warden of Security Training.
