New Superintendent at Bacon Probation Detention Center/Transitional Center

Lonnie Pritchett Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Lonnie Pritchett to Superintendent at the Bacon Probation Detention Center (PDC)/Transitional Center (TC), effective March 16, 2023. As Superintendent, Pritchett will be responsible for overseeing staff and supervising 232 male detainees and residents.
"Pritchett has been a valuable and dedicated leader since beginning his career with the agency," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident in his correctional knowledge as he continues his service to the citizens of Georgia in carrying out the mission at Bacon PDC/TC."
Pritchett began his career with the GDC in 2005 as a Correctional Officer at Bacon PDC, and in 2009, he was promoted to Sergeant. In 2020 he was promoted to Lieutenant at Appling Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF) and in 2021, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent, where he currently serves.
Pritchett's departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Professional Management Program through Columbus State University, Basic Management Training, Sergeants Academy, Supervision I, II, and III, Lieutenant's Academy, and Assistant Superintendent Academy.
