New Superintendent at Bacon Probation Detention Center

Tracy Page Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Tracy Page to Superintendent at Bacon Probation Detention Center in Alma, Ga., effective November 16, 2018. As Superintendent, Page will be responsible for overseeing the facility’s daily operations and managing 74 staff and 221 detainees.

“Page has shown exceptional leadership skills in each position he has held with the agency,” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozer. “I am confident that his experience and professionalism will serve him well in his new position.” 

Page began his career with the GDC in 1994 as a Counselor at Milan State Prison (SP). Upon the opening of Pulaski SP, he transferred to serve as a Substance Abuse Counselor in the Residential Substance Abuse Program (RAST). In 1996, Page transferred to Johnson SP/Wrightsville Youth Detention Center (YDC), where he served as a Counselor/Lieutenant in the Boot Camp with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). During his tenure with DJJ, he served as an Institutional Program Director/Major at the Boot Camp and at the Eastman YDC. In 2001, Page transferred to Rogers SP as the Chief Counselor until he returned to DJJ as an Assistant Director of the Eastman YDC. In 2011, he returned to GDC to serve as a Counselor at Smith SP, Georgia SP, and Appling Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF). Page has served as the Assistant Superintendent at Appling ITF since his promotion in 2016.

Page received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Brewton-Parker College and served four years in the United States Marine Corps Infantry. He has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Juvenile Correctional Officer Training (BJCOT), Professional Management Program (PMP), the Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI), and Assistant Superintendent Training.
