New Deputy Warden of Administration Named at EWF

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Erica Wade to Deputy Warden of Administration at Emanuel Women’s Facility (EWF) effective March 1, 2017. As Deputy Warden, Wade will be responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations, Maintenance and Food Service departments at a facility housing 390 medium security female offenders.
“Erica has over 14 years with the Department of Corrections, working her way up from Secretary to Deputy Warden,” said Commissioner Dozier. “We are thankful for her dedication, and look forward to her continued success with the agency.”
Wade began her career with the department in 2002 as a Secretary at Smith State Prison (SP). During her tenure at Smith SP, she worked as an Accounting Clerk with the Food Service Department and an Accountant, Paraprofessional in the Business Office. In 2016, Wade was promoted to the Business Manager at Smith SP, where she currently serves.
Wade has completed the following departmental training: Basic Purchasing, Advanced Purchasing, and Fundamentals of State Purchasing. She is currently enrolled in the Professional Management Program (PMP).
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
