Delvin Peoples Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Delvin Peoples, Assistant Superintendent at McEver Probation Detention Center (PDC) to Superintendent at Albany Transitional Center (TC), effective August 16th. As the Superintendent, Peoples will be responsible for overseeing approximately 40 staff members and 150 minimum security male detainees.

“We are proud to have someone of Delvin’s caliber on our team, and look forward to the knowledge and experience he will bring to Albany TC as he takes on this new leadership role.” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier.

Peoples began his career with the GDC in 2006 as a Correctional Officer at Lee State Prison (SP). During his time at Lee SP, he served in various roles, including Sergeant, Tactical Squad Commander, CERT Sergeant, Lieutenant, and the Recruitment and Retention Lieutenant for the Southwest Region. In 2018, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent at McEver Probation Center.

Peoples is currently enrolled at Thomas University, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. He has completed Basic Correctional Officer Training, Special Operations Training, the Professional Management Program, Supervision I, II, and III, Effective Communications, and Sergeant’s Academy.
