Kenneth Mantle Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Kenneth Mantle to Statewide Transitional Center (TC) Coordinator, effective January 1, 2021. As TC Coordinator, Mantle will be responsible for the supervision and support of the daily operations of the state’s 12 Transitional Centers.

“Mantle has gained invaluable knowledge in each of the positions he has held within the agency,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “I look forward to seeing him excel in his new role as TC Coordinator.”

Mantle began his career with the Department in 2010 as Executive Assistant to the Commissioner, and in 2015, he was promoted to Director of Offender Administration, where he currently serves. Prior to joining the Department, he served as a Parole Officer with the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles from 2008 to 2010. Mantle served in the 10th Security Forces with the United States Air Force from 2000-2004 and currently serves in the Georgia Air National Guard. 

Mantle earned a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Georgia. He has completed the following departmental training: Peace Officer Standards Training Instructor Training, Firearms Instructor Training, and Corrections Leadership Institute.
