Pamela Wiggins promoted    

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Pamela Wiggins to Director of Female Services, effective July 1, 2017. Wiggins will oversee the operations of all Female Prisons, Probation Detention Centers and Integrated Treatment Facilities. She will be responsible for investigating and implementing gender responsive initiatives, and ensuring that the department employs evidence-based programming and processes for female offenders.

“Pamela is taking on a new and integral position, that will ensure we are providing the most effective programming to our female offenders,” said Commissioner Dozier. “She has proven herself throughout the years, and we are confident that she is the right fit for this position.”

Wiggins began her career with the Department as a Counselor at Jimmy Helms Diversion Center in 1999. She served as a Counselor until her promotion to Assistant Superintendent at Jimmy Helms Transitional Center in 2008. In 2010, she was promoted to Superintendent of Clayton Transitional Center and in 2013, Wiggins was reassigned to Superintendent of Metro Transitional Center, where she currently serves.

Wiggins holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hawaii Pacific University and holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbus State University. She has completed the following departmental training: Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI) and Wardens Pre-Command.
