Jeffrey Rowland Assigned

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the assignment of Jeffery Rowland to Deputy Warden of Security at Whitworth Women’s Facility, effective June 1st. As Deputy Warden, Rowland will be responsible for overseeing 75 staff and 442 medium security female offenders.

“With 19 years of security experience, Rowland is a valuable asset to the department,” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier. “We are confident that his ability to effectively manage staff and offenders at Whitworth Women’s Facility.”

Rowland began his career with the GDC in 1999 as a Correctional Officer at Frank Scott State Prison. In 2000, he transferred to Whitworth Parole Revocation Center, where he served as an Outside Detail Officer, Sergeant, Shift Supervisor, and Adjunct Instructor. In 2012, he was promoted to Lieutenant and helped oversee the transition to Whitworth Women’s Facility. He was later promoted to Medical Unit Manager in 2016, where he has served since 2016. 

Rowland has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), POST General Instructor Training, POST Firearms Instructor Training, Basic Management Training (BMT) and Professional Management Program (PMP).
