Jeremy Foston Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Jeremy Foston to deputy warden of care and treatment at Hancock State Prison (SP), effective May 1, 2019. In this role, Foston will oversee the supervision of educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services and the mental health services of approximately 1,191 close security male offenders.

“Foston has shown great dedication throughout his career with the department,” Ward said. “I’m confident his knowledge and passion will continue to positively impact the staff and offenders at the facility.”

Foston began his career with the Georgia Department of Corrections in 2003 as a counselor at Hancock SP.  In 2016, he was promoted to senior counselor and in 2017, he was promoted to chief counselor, where he currently serves. 

Foston received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Fort Valley State University.  He has completed the following departmental training: Executive Basic Correctional Officer Training, Basic Management Training, Advanced Management Training, and the Professional Management Program through Columbus State University.
