Carnesia Mack Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Carnesia Mack, Unit Manager at Coastal State Prison (SP), to Deputy Warden of Security at McRae Women’s Facility, effective April 16, 2026. As Deputy Warden of Security, Mack will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and female offenders.

“Carnesia has consistently demonstrated commitment and professionalism throughout her tenure with the agency,” said Commissioner Oliver. “We appreciate her dedication and we support her continued success as she takes on her new role as Deputy Warden of Security.”

Mack began her career with the GDC in 2009 at Georgia SP as a Correctional Officer. During her tenure at Georgia SP, she was promoted through the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant. In 2017, she transferred to Coastal SP as the Recruitment Lieutenant, and in 2018, she was promoted to Unit Manager, where she currently serves. 

Mack holds a diploma in computer information systems from Swainsboro Technical College. Her departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Management, I, II, and III, Supervision III, and the Professional Management Program through Columbus State University.
