Curtis Todd Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Curtis Todd, Special Assistant to the Warden at Smith State Prison (SP), to Warden at Dodge SP, effective January 16, 2026. As Warden, Todd will be responsible for overseeing staff members and approximately 1,236 male offenders.

"Curtis consistently demonstrates exemplary leadership and has excelled in each position he has held with the agency," said Commissioner Oliver. "We are confident that his experience and professionalism will serve him well while he continues to uphold the GDC mission as Warden at Dodge SP."

Todd began his career in 2013 as a Correctional Officer at Smith Transitional Center (TC) and was promoted to Sergeant at the facility in 2018. In 2019, he transferred to Rogers State Prison (SP) as Sergeant and returned to Smith TC in the same position in 2020. He was then promoted to Lieutenant at Smith TC in 2020, and in 2022, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent at Emanuel PDC and Smith TC. In 2024, he was promoted to Superintendent at Emanuel PDC, and in 2025, he was promoted to Special Assistant to the Warden at Smith SP, where he currently serves.  

Todd attended Ogeechee Technical College, where he obtained a diploma in wildlife management.  His departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Supervision I, II, and III, Sergeant’s Academy, Lieutenant Academy, Chief of Security Academy, Assistant Superintendent Training, and Warden’s Pre-Command.
