New Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Burruss Correctional Training Center
Jacqueline Fanning Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Jacqueline Fanning, Assistant Superintendent at West Central Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF) to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Burruss Correctional Training Center (BCTC), effective August 16, 2025. As Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment, Fanning will oversee the supervision of educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services and the mental health services of approximately 800 medium-security male offenders housed at BCTC.
“Jacqueline brings a decade of experience in counseling and supportive treatment programming and has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership,” said Commissioner Oliver. “We are confident that she will continue to enhance our mission of safety and our ongoing commitment to providing care and treatment avenues for our offender population.”
Fanning began her career with the GDC in 2015 as an Adult Basic Education Instructor at Phillips State Prison (SP). In 2016, she was promoted to Behavioral Health Counselor II at the same facility, and in 2018, she was promoted to Behavioral Health Counselor III at Lee Arrendale SP. Fanning was then promoted to Social Services Program Consultant in 2020, followed by her promotion in 2022 to Assistant Superintendent at West Central ITF where she currently serves.
Fanning holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Clark Atlanta University. She is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-II) and she has completed the following departmental training: Executive Basic Correctional Officer Training, Moral Reconation Therapy, Matrix Early Recovery Skills, and Motivation for Change.
