New Warden at Dooly State Prison
Mark Agbaosi Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Mark Agbaosi, Deputy Warden of Security at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP), to Warden at Dooly State Prison, effective February 16, 2025. As Warden, Agbaosi will be responsible for overseeing staff members and approximately 1,709 male offenders.
"Mark has been a remarkable leader and devoted member of our team during his 15-year correctional career," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We firmly believe that his wealth of experience and commitment to excellence will guide him as he takes on the role of Warden at Dooly State Prison."
Agbaosi began his career with the GDC in 2010 as a Correctional Officer at GDCP. He was promoted through the ranks of Sergeant, Tact Squad member, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major/Chief of Security. In 2021, he was promoted to Unit Manager, and in 2022, he was promoted to Deputy Warden of Security at GDCP, where he currently serves.
Agbaosi is currently enrolled at Clayton State University, working toward his degree in Criminal Justice. His departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Special Operations (CERT/TACT) Basic Training, Sergeants Academy, Chief of Security Academy, Basic Management Training, and Supervision Training. He also served in the United States Navy and United States Air Force Reserve.
