Yolande Fraser Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Yolande Fraser, Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Metro Reentry Facility, to Superintendent at Helms Facility, effective January 16, 2025. As Superintendent, Fraser will be responsible for overseeing all staff and supervising male and female offenders at the facility.

"Fraser's leadership experience and remarkable work ethic have proven to be an invaluable asset to the agency," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident she will continue to uphold the values and mission of the agency while taking on her new role as Superintendent."

Fraser began her career with the GDC in 2010 as a Correctional Officer at Metro State Prison (SP). Upon the closure of Metro SP in 2011, she transferred to Phillips SP where she was promoted to Counselor and Chief Counselor. In 2017, she was transferred to Metro Reentry Facility as Chief Counselor, and in 2019, she was promoted to Unit Manager. Later that year, she was promoted to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Metro Reentry Facility, where she currently serves.  

Fraser received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Haven. Her departmental training consists of the Addiction Certification Preparation Program, Effective Communication, Basic Management, Advanced Management, Supervision I, II, and III, Management I, II, and III, and Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment Academy.
