Elizabeth Scott Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Elizabeth Scott, Captain at Montgomery State Prison (SP) to Deputy Warden at Montgomery SP effective July 31, 2024. As Deputy Warden, Scott will be responsible for overseeing security staff members, supervising educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services, and the mental health services of male offenders at the facility.

"Scott has displayed exceptional leadership skills in each position she has held with the GDC,” said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. “We appreciate her dedication to the mission and we are confident she will excel in her new role at Montgomery SP."

Scott began her career with the department in 2006 as a Correctional Officer at Telfair SP, and in 2016, she was promoted to Sergeant at Montgomery SP. During her tenure at Montgomery SP, she was promoted to Lieutenant and Captain, where she currently serves.

Scott’s departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Chief of Security Training, POST Instructor Training, and Supervision I, II, and III.
