Gwendolyn Green Reassigned

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the reassignment of Gwendolyn Green to Deputy Warden of Security at McRae Women's Facility (WF), effective April 16, 2023. As Deputy Warden of Security, Green will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and female offenders upon the opening of the facility in late 2023.

"Green has worked her way up through the ranks and proven to be a dedicated leader in each position she has held within the agency," Ward said. "We are confident that her correctional knowledge will benefit the staff and offenders at McRae WF."

Green began her career with the GDC in 2010 as a Correctional Officer at West Central Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF), and during her tenure, was promoted to Sergeant and Lieutenant. In 2020, she was promoted to Unit Manager at Pulaski State Prison (SP), and in 2021, she was promoted to Deputy Warden of Security at Lee Arrendale SP, where she currently serves.

Green attended Fort Valley State University and has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Basic Management Training, Supervision I, II, and III, Deputy Warden of Security Academy, and Advanced Management Training.
