Execution Date Set for Jackson County Murderer

Donnie Cleveland Lance to be executed on January 29
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Jackson County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Donnie Cleveland Lance. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between January 29 and February 5, 2020. Commissioner Timothy C. Ward has set the date for Wednesday, January 29, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.
Lance was convicted in 1999 for the murders of Sabrina Joy Lance, and Dwight G. Wood, Jr. If executed, Lance will be the 53rd inmate put to death by lethal injection.
