Ray Jefferson Cromartie to be executed on October 30

FORSYTH, Ga– The Thomas County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Ray Jefferson Cromartie. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between October 30 and November 6, 2019. Commissioner Timothy C. Ward has set the date for Wednesday, October 30, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.

Cromartie was convicted in 1997 for the murder of Richard A. Slysz.  If executed, Cromartie will be the 52nd inmate put to death by lethal injection.
