GDC to host Family Day on May 29

A day for an open discussion between families and GDC leadership
FORSYTH, GA. — Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) will host a Family Day event for family members of inmates on May 29 in Milledgeville, Ga. This event provides family members a forum where they can openly discuss issues concerning their loved ones with GDC leadership.
“I truly believe that events like Family Day are critical to the operation of our agency,” said Commissioner Bryson. “We are looking forward to meeting the families, having an open discussion, and receiving feedback,” added Bryson.
The meeting will be located at The Chapel of All Faiths in Milledgeville, Ga. on the corner of Broad Street and Swint Avenue. The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM.
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 55,000 state prisoners
and over 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
