Donna Tebought Appointed

Forsyth — Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the promotion of Donna Tebought as Director of Risk Reduction Services effective October 16, 2014. As Director of Risk Reduction Services (RRS), Tebought will lead and direct the operations and oversight�of the counseling services, and the cognitive and substance abuse programs.

"Donna has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from the various positions she has held within the Department," said Commissioner Owens. "She is truly an asset to our Department and I look forward to her leadership within this new role."

Tebought began her career with the Department in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at Metro State Prison. In 1994, Tebought transferred to Central DeKalb Probation Office to serve as a Probation Officer. In 1995, Tebought became a Counselor at the Jimmy Helms Diversion Center and was promoted to Senior Counselor in 2001. She transferred to Rockdale DeKalb Probation Detention Center, in 2003, and served as a Counselor. In 2004, Tebought was promoted to Program Development Consultant with RRS and in 2006 was promoted to Program Director I of the Cognitive Behavioral Unit of RRS. In 2013, she was promoted to Senior Manager of the Behavioral unit of RRS, where she most recently served.

Tebought earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of New York at New Paltz and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University. Tebought has completed Basic Management Training and Corrections Leadership Institute.
