New Deputy Warden of Security Named at Rogers State Prison

Forsyth — Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the reassignment of Annettia Toby to Deputy Warden of Security at Rogers State Prison effective September 1, 2014. The facility is located in Reidsville, Ga. The former Deputy Warden of Security of Telfair State Prison will now be responsible for supervising and managing 212 security staff and the overall management and operation of Rogers State Prison.
"Annettia is a valuable asset to the Department and is committed to helping us carry out our mission," said Commissioner Brian Owens. "We look forward to the leadership and experience she will bring to Rogers State Prison," added Owens.
Toby joined the Department in 1997 as a Correctional Officer at Telfair State Prison. In 2001, Toby was promoted to Sergeant at Telfair SP and in 2003, she was promoted to Lieutenant at Telfair SP. Toby was promoted to Unit Manager at Telfair State Prison in 2007. In 2010, Toby was promoted to Deputy Warden of Security at Johnson State Prison. In 2012, Toby was reassigned to Deputy Warden of Security of Telfair State Prison, where she most recently served.
Toby earned an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Technical College, a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix. During her time with the Department, she has completed Correctional Leadership Institute (CLI) and Warden's Pre-Command College.
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 55,000 state prisoners and over 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
