Jodi Ford Appointed

Forsyth — Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the appointment of Jodi Ford to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Lee Arrendale State Prison effective October 1, 2014. The facility is located in Alto, Georgia. As Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment, Ford will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of medical, mental health, education and counseling services of 1,167 female inmates, classified as special mission security, at Lee Arrendale State Prison.

“Jodi has risen through the ranks since joining the Department in 2002,” said Commissioner Brian Owens. “She will bring a wealth of knowledge that will truly impact the staff and inmates at Lee Arrendale State Prison.”
 
Ford began her career with the Department in 2002 as an intern in the Cobb Judicial Circuit. After graduating from Kennesaw State University, she was hired by the Cobb Judicial Circuit as a Probation Officer I. In 2005, she was selected to serve as a Specialized Probation Supervision Officer and in 2007 she was promoted to Probation Officer III where she supervised High/Max, SPS, IPS and the Court team. In November 2010, she was promoted to Chief Probation Officer of the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit. Ford was placed on Developmental Assignment in November 2012 with Facilities Operations, where she most recently served.

Ford earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Kennesaw State University and a Master’s degree in Leadership from Shorter College. She has successfully completed an array of departmental training to include; Basic Management Training, Advanced Management Training, Pre-Command, and Corrections Leadership Institute. She is also a POST certified Senior Instructor.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 55,000 state prisoners and more than 160,000 probationers.  It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
