New Deputy Warden of Security Named at Lee State Prison

Jermaine White Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. -- Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Jermaine White as Deputy Warden of Security at Lee State Prison (SP) effective August 16, 2015. White will be responsible for supervising and managing all security staff and the overall management and operation of the facility that is located in Leesburg, Ga. Lee SP currently houses 708 medium security male offenders.
“Jermaine has worked in many capacities since joining the Department in 2002,” said Commissioner Bryson. “I am confident that his experience and security knowledge will be beneficial to the staff at Lee State Prison.”
White began his career with the Department in 2002 as a Correctional Officer at Irwin County Parole Revocation Center. In 2005, White was promoted to Sergeant at Wilcox State Prison (SP). In 2009, White was promoted to Lieutenant at Wilcox SP. In 2010, White became a Probation Surveillance Officer at the Cordele Probation Office, and in 2012, he was promoted to Probation Officer at the Fitzgerald Probation Office while also serving as the Assistant Probation Tactical Squad Commander for the Southwest Area. In 2013, White was promoted to Specialized Probation Supervisor at the Fitzgerald Probation Office, where he most recently served.
White has an Associates of Science degree in Law Enforcement and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas University. During his time with the Department, White has completed the following departmental training courses: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT); Basic Probation Officer Training (BPOT); Basic Management Training (BMT); Professional Management Training (PMP); and Senior POST Instructor.
