Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

On December 1 at Telfair SP, Civilian Caleb Xavran was arrested by the Telfair County Sheriff's Office for possession of contraband with intent. During a search, the following contraband was located:  2,060 grams of Methamphetamine 1,597 grams of marijuana, 27 unknown white pills, 433 grams of strips, 40 cellphones, 5.920 grams of tobacco, 31 packs of rolling paper, 15 charging cords, 15 charging blocks, 20 lighters, 17 blunt wrapping paper, 2 drones, and 1 laptop. Upon a search of civilian Xavran, a 9-millimeter handgun with magazines and 31 rounds of ammo was also located.  Civilian Xavran was transported to Telfair County Sheriff's Office with pending charges.

On December 5 at Baldwin SP, security staff observed 2 unknown males throwing contraband near the facility. Upon further investigation, 6 vacuum sealed bags were retrieved, which contained 9 cellphones, 8 charging blocks, 12 charging cords, 1 Apple Watch, 1 Apple Watch charger, 5 lighters, 4 loose-leaf blunt rolling papers,  and 227 grams of marijuana. The Milledgeville Police Department was notified and apprehended the 2 suspects, identified as Aundra Henderson and Anquavious Seals.  Civilans Henderson and Seals were transported to Millegeville County Jail with charges pending.

On December 13 at Hays SP, the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office reported seeing an unknown person near the facility. One black backpack containing contraband was found in the woods near the facility. Civilian Demarco Statham was located and arrested by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office with pending charges.

On December 14 at Hancock SP, Civilians Arianna Gresham, Ajionnaria Norman, and a juvenile entered the facility to visit an offender. Security staff observed a bulge from Civilian Ajionnaria Norman's shirt. After a search, 3 bundles were recovered, which contained 131 grams of marijuana and 227 grams of tobacco. An additional search of the civilian's car was conducted and the following contraband was located, 659 grams of tobacco, 4 cellphones, 1 I-Pad, 2 rolls of tape, 2 box of zip lock bags and 1 02C THTC Zour stash. The Hancock County Sheriff's Office arrested civilian Gresham.

On December 17 at Hays SP, Civilian Okema Fuller-Graham entered the front entry of the facility to visit an Offender. Civilian Graham appeared nervous and was questioned by security staff due to her suspicious behavior. After being questioned, Civilian Fuller-Graham was found to have a 9mm handgun that was hidden in her waistband behind her back. The Chattooga County Sheriff's Office was notified, and Civilian Fuller-Graham was arrested with pending charges. 

On December 18 at Calhoun SP, Warehouse Clerk Samantha Smith admitted to GDC OPS that she was buying food from staff dining and selling it to offenders for $80. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office arrested Clerk Smith with pending charges. 

On December 20 at Macon SP, security staff observed Civilians Da'Niyviah Jones, Savion Freeman, and Keeny Wright near the facility, then ran into the woods. Macon County Sheriff's Office and GDC Canine Unit were notified, and a search of the area was conducted. The following contraband was recovered from a vehicle parked near the facility: 99 grams of Methamphetamine, 49 grams of MDMA, 340 grams of marijuana, 2 personal cellphones, 8 cellphones, 8 chargers and 396 grams of tobacco. The Macon County Sheriff's Office arrested civilians Jones, Freeman, and Wright with pending charges. 

On December 21 at Hays SP, during a visitation, Civilian Santen Jackson was observed by security staff switching shoes with an offender. Upon a search of Civilian Jackson, 403 grams of Methamphetamine were recovered from her shoes. Before visitation began, security staff witnessed Civilian Jackson emerge from the wooded area near the facility's entrance. The Chattooga County Sheriff's Office searched the area and recovered a small box with shoes and 403 grams of Methamphetamine inside it. Civilian Jackson was arrested and transported to Chattooga County jail with pending charges.

On December 23 at Valdosta SP, Medical employee Deborah Mason entered the facility, and upon searching her items, security staff found 2 cellphones hidden in a bowl of food. Lowndes County Sheriff's Office was notified, and Mason was arrested and transported to Lowndes County jail with pending charges.

On December 26 at Hancock SP, security staff observed a suspicious person near the facility. During a search, 2 packages were located, containing 679.87 grams of tobacco, 120 cigarettes, and 8 packs of Bulgar. The Hancock Sheriff's Department was notified and they located and apprehended Civilian Drika Crayton. Civilian Crayton was arrested and transported to Hancock County Jail.
