Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,586 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On October 23 at Macon State Prison, Visitor Stacie Green was observed passing an offender contraband during visitation. The offender was searched, and marijuana was found on his person. A search of visitor Green’s vehicle was conducted and other unknown contraband items were discovered. Visitor Green was arrested and transported to the Macon County Jail.
On October 21 at Dooly State Prison, a drone was seen over the facility. A search found four unidentified individuals with an unopened package wrapped in black electrical tape and drones. The four civilians were arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail.
On October 20 at Baldwin State Prison, an individual was seen near the facility’s wood line. Civilian Dominique Pete Williams was located near the facility and Civilian Aubrey White was found in her vehicle near the facility. A search found tobacco on the facility grounds. Both Williams and White were arrested and transported to the Baldwin County Jail.
On October 18 at Wilcox State Prison, an individual was seen near the facility’s perimeter. A search found Civilian Antares Banks with the following contraband: tobacco, marijuana, cellphones, chargers, rolling papers, cellphone battery, and hacksaw blades. Banks was arrested and transported to the Wilcox County Jail.
