Contraband Arrest at Multiple State Prisons
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,367 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On January 27 at Hancock State Prison, Hancock County Sheriff’s office arrested Civilians Aretha Heran, Jaquez Price and Octavian Brown after a traffic stop yielded 15.7 grams of marijuana and 639.3 grams of tobacco.
On January 27 at Hancock State Prison, during a traffic stop civilians Quadir Harris and Laquionda Parrish were found with 19.9 grams of methamphetamine and 97.6 grams of marijuana. Civilians Harris and Parrish were placed under arrest, and taken into custody by Hancock County Sheriff's Office.
On January 26 at Dooly State Prison, Officer L'Chrissia Graham was found with twelve unopened bundles wrapped in black tape on her person. Officer Graham was placed under arrest by Dooly County Sheriff's Office.
On January 25 at Georgia State Prison, Civilian Devin Mclean was observed in his vehicle near Rogers State Prison. Civilian Mclean was found to have 2 garbage bags containing tobacco in his back seat. Civilian Mclean was placed under arrest and taken into custody by the Tattnall County Sheriff Department.
On January 24 at Dooly State Prison, Officer Tamia Solomon was arrested by Dooly County Sheriff’s office for bringing contraband into the facility.
