Contraband Arrests at Lee State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,184 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On March 9, 2019 at Lee State Prison, the canine unit alerted to a vehicle and discovered 1.85 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while searching the facility. Visitor Nahemie Wednt was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 9, 2019 at Lee State Prison, security staff discovered 11.7 grams of marijuana, 6 grams of cannabis paper, a handgun and 2 loaded magazines while conducting a search. Visitor Warren Gilbert was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 9, 2019 at Lee State Prison, the canine unit alerted to a vehicle and discovered 6.9 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while conducting a search of the facility. Visitor Ryan Chastain was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
